Intuitive 3D Modelling Software With Rig First Workflow
Backlog concept for an intuitive 3D modelling tool where artists design structure and motion first, with geometry generated automatically.
Notes
Overview
This project explores an alternative approach to 3D modelling that prioritises structure and motion over direct mesh manipulation.
Description
Traditional 3D modelling tools require artists to work directly with meshes, topology, and low level geometric detail. While powerful, this can be slow and unintuitive for early stage ideation and non technical users.
This concept proposes a ground up workflow where the artist defines a wireframe or rig first, including joints, proportions, and motion constraints. From this representation, weights, skinning, and final mesh geometry would be generated automatically.
The goal is to create a fast, intuitive modelling environment focused on creative intent rather than technical execution. The project remains conceptual and would require significant research into procedural geometry, deformation models, and user experience design.
