Overview
I competed in the Susquehanna Algothon finals in Sydney in both 2022 and 2023.
Description
In 2022, my team won the competition. In 2023, our team placed second despite achieving the highest scoring algorithm. The strategy prioritised consistency over raw profit due to heavy penalties on return volatility, using smoothed price series and classic technical indicators rather than complex cross asset models.
The experience provided strong exposure to real world trading constraints and communication under pressure.
